Our Values

Team spirit

Fencing is an individual sport, but in the club we are a team. Nobody wins or loses alone, and there is always someone to lend you a hand.

Guided learning

Your coaches are with you from your very first class right up to top-level competition. It takes more than picking up a sword and saying "touché": you learn, you work up a sweat and you enjoy it.

Inclusion

We teach fencing from the age of 6 and we include wheelchair fencing. There is a place for everyone here, whatever your age or previous fitness.

Our team

The Coaches

Your coaches are qualified to teach all three weapons. In standing fencing we specialise in sabre; in adapted fencing we work with all three.

Víctor Santiago

Fencing Technical Director and Secretary

Has been fencing for 18 years, with several international appearances. Has coached sabre at an international training camp in China. An active competitor and coach of the teenagers-and-adults group.

The weapon we practise

Sabre

We are one of the few clubs in Andalusia that practises sabre. With the sabre you can score with the edge, the back edge and the point, and there is no button on the tip as there is in épée and foil. It is a very dynamic weapon: speed, split-second decisions and sharp reflexes. A bout is hard to follow at first, but you soon get the hang of the rules. And it is, without doubt, the most spectacular to watch.

Don't think twice

Come and try fencing with us. Your first class is free, and you will be welcomed with the friendly atmosphere of Club de Esgrima Torremolinos. The hardest part is taking that first step onto the piste.
